Spring Daffodil
The daffodils A.J. planted for me are finally starting to open! Here’s the first one, isn’t it cute!
Jury Duty
I’m here on my second day of jury duty awaiting… Well, awaiting anything at this point. Nothing has happened so far. Yesterday they called 49 people as potential jurors for one trial, but they still haven’t done anything with them (and I’m not one of them). As for the rest of us (at least 10 times the number of people you see in the picture!), still nothing but waiting.
I was actually hoping to go through the whole process of being on a jury – it seems interesting – but I think my chances are slim to none at this point. It seems that there is no need for juries this week!
Qantas Kids
Look who I found in the Admiral’s Club/Qantas Club in Honolulu… It’s the Qantas kids as the background for the computer. 🙂
The Coconut Cup!
This place has amazing sandwiches and fruit smoothies…. Yummy Kalihiwai Creamsicle and Tunnels Treat!
Okolehao Trail
Our last day, and our last hike up the Okolehao Trail to an overlook of Hanalei and surrounds. It was a tough hike with really steep grades, but so beautiful at the top!
Kauai Coffee Company
A couple of days ago we stopped off at the Kauai Coffee Company Visitor Center. We took a self-guided tour of “How Coffee is Made” and tasted a bunch of their coffee blends.
I love finding unique visitor centers to visit while on vacation. 🙂
There’s a pineapple plantation here too, but it’s center has been “temporarily closed” since we got here.
Kuilau Trail
Another hike today, a couple miles up to a picnic area, then down to a bridge with a sign saying it was the end if the trail and the beginning of the connecting trail.
Waipo’o Falls
This is Waipo’o Falls on the Canyon Trail up in Waimea Canyon. We hiked there yesterday and the trail was amazing! We hiked right along the edge of this HUGE canyon and it was just a amazing. We also stopped at the lookout points on the drive to the top, one of which had a big family of mountain goats scampering over the hillside. That was cool!
Artistic Endeavours
We brought along some new art supplies to try out in our vacation… Colored pencils, oil pastels, and some paints and small canvas. We each have a new sketch book as well, and we’ve had a great time drawing scenes by the pool, at the beach, and (as seen below) in our room. Rainbow Bear knows how to strike a pose!
