{"id":133,"date":"2005-11-13T17:17:02","date_gmt":"2005-11-14T00:17:02","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2005-11-13T17:52:34","modified_gmt":"2005-11-14T00:52:34","slug":"in-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/2005\/11\/13\/in-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"In San Francisco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I flew into San Francisco this morning to start the first leg of my interview trip.&nbsp; I got in kind of early, so after picking up my rental car (this fine looking PT Cruiser)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Picture(16).jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/user_files\/Image\/email\/2005-11-13-17-17-02-6017.jpg\" width=\"400\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;I decided to drive out to the 3 programs I&#8217;ll be interviewing at this week so that I have an idea where I&#8217;m going and hopefully won&#8217;t get lost.&nbsp; UCSF was first, and it&#8217;s located at the top of a hill right by Golden Gate park.&nbsp; The Children&#8217;s Hospital is actually a few floors located inside the general hospital &#8211; we&#8217;ll see how I feel about it tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Next I headed out toward Oakland where the other two programs are located.&nbsp; I stopped by Oakland Children&#8217;s, which is a stand-alone, community based hospital (meaning, not a big academic center, no general hospital affiliated with it).&nbsp; Then on to Kaiser Permanente &#8211; Oakland, which is a smaller campus of buildings.&nbsp; I have those two interviews on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>And now I&#8217;m sitting in my hotel room at the Fairfield Inn Oakland, which is pretty darn nice for a Fairfield&#8230; at an airport location&#8230; I have 2 beds, and a little sitting area (it&#8217;s really cute, see)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Picture(20).jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/user_files\/Image\/email\/2005-11-13-17-17-02-5047.jpg\" width=\"400\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and I also have this little kitchenette with a microwave, a little fridge, a sink, and counters\/cabinets.&nbsp; That&#8217;s totally more than I expected and very cool.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Picture(18).jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/user_files\/Image\/email\/2005-11-13-17-17-02-1922.jpg\" width=\"400\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, so now I&#8217;m thinking about heading out to find a grocery store so I can get some things to put in my kitchenette.&nbsp; Probably some milk and cereal, some fruit, some soda or tea or something and maybe some snack-y something or other.&nbsp; Then I will resume preparing for my interviews &#8211; practicing answers and reviewing the questions I want to ask and making sure I have everything ready for the morning.&nbsp; I&#8217;ll update again sometime this week and talk about how everything is going.<\/p>\n<p>Until then&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I flew into San Francisco this morning to start the first leg of my interview trip.&nbsp; I got in kind of early, so after picking up my rental car (this fine looking PT Cruiser)&#8230; &#8230;I decided to drive out to &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/2005\/11\/13\/in-san-francisco\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2,3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-133","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-medschool","category-mobile"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/133","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=133"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/133\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=133"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=133"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=133"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
