{"id":129,"date":"2005-10-16T12:45:45","date_gmt":"2005-10-16T19:45:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/?p=129"},"modified":"2005-10-16T12:46:26","modified_gmt":"2005-10-16T19:46:26","slug":"129","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jillcook.com\/blog\/2005\/10\/16\/129\/","title":{"rendered":"Things on my mind at this moment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>60 days until my birthday.<\/strong> (check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jillcook.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.jillcook.com<\/a> for daily updates :-))<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 residency interview invitations:<\/strong> UCSF, Oakland Children&#8217;s (in the greater SanFran area), and Denver Children&#8217;s.&nbsp; I&#8217;m trying to get one long SanFran trip scheduled so I can do 4 interviews there all in 1 week.&nbsp; It&#8217;ll be an interesting week, being &quot;on&quot; all the time.. but much nicer than making 3 or 4 trips out there separately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I love my job.<\/strong>&nbsp; Okay, it&#8217;s not technically my job yet, since really I&#8217;m still paying for the privilige of working crazy hours in the hospital&#8230; but I&#8217;m going to love my job.&nbsp; And that&#8217;s nice to know.&nbsp; I&#8217;m also going to complain about it a lot, because it seems that that&#8217;s what residents do and I will get sucked in just as easily as everyone else seems to be&#8230; BUT, knowing that, I will try to keep the complaining to a minimum and remember all the great things that make me love my job. Here&#8217;s a few from this week:<br \/><em>Little kid smiles<br \/>When babies just look at you, all nice and content<br \/>The suggestion, from a 10-year-old patient, that I could be &quot;a princess&quot; for Halloween, &quot;or a DEAD princess!!!&quot; with a white dress covered in blood and half of a tiara<br \/>Being called &quot;doctor&quot;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Halloween<\/strong> &#8211; what to do for Halloween?&nbsp; I want to have a little get together&#8230; a party&#8230; a soiree&#8230; an affair, a celebration, a fete, gala, occasion, function, bash &#8211; however you want to refer to it, I want to have people and food and decorations and maybe scary movies, or semi-scary movies anyway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>60 days until my birthday.
