New Name, New Logo

My hospital has a new name and logo as of this week… We are now Seattle Children’s Hospital… Which is what a lot of people call it already, but now it’s official.
There’s been a ton of new branding material (which had to cost a ton!) with the new whale logo. It is cute, and a fresh look, but a totally different font which means EVERYTHING (badges, papers, signs, computers, papers – everything!) will eventually be redone. What a huge change, with a huge cost… I sometimes wonder if it’s really worth it?

Skyline

A.J. and I went to the 30th birthday of a business associate of his last night. It was held at her nearly finished new home in Magnolia, and this is the view from the front room looking out over Seattle. I was standing on what I’ll call the 2nd floor (since it was one floor up from the main entrance on the “ground floor”), though if you count up from the very bottom floor on up, there are actually 6 levels… with a pool in the middle… crazy!

Perfect Pies

We made strawberry rhubarb pies last night (using the rhubarb we harvested from the yard in PA on the day we left) and they turned out so pretty. And so yummy!!

Miniature World

On our last trip to Victoria BC we went to Miniature World, which was a really awesome museum! I love mini things, and this place is FULL if them! One of my favorite scenes was the circus scene… All the detail was awesome, and it had a glow-in-the-dark portion and the rides really moved! So cool!
