So I went to me very first ever yoga class today, it was a Bikram yoga class (AKA "Hot Yoga"). Here’s a little blurb from wikipedia about it:
Bikram Yoga is a style of yoga developed by Bikram Choudhury. He has designed a sequence of 26 yoga postures (or asana) and two breathing exercises that are performed over 90 minutes in a heated room. The postures are vigorous and demand a lot from the students. Each Yoga Pose is usually performed twice and held for a certain period of time. Yoga Sessions start from standing postures, then move on to backbends, forward bends, and twists; and finally end in floor postures. The heated room, typically around 95–105°F (35–40°C), makes muscles more pliant and encourages sweating which purportedly acts as a purifier. People of all levels, ages and body types practice together with a teacher acting as a guide, taking the class through the 90 minute series.

My friends (Jill and Maren) invited me to go with them this morning, and so I got up at the crack of dawn and prepared to get my yoga on. Overall I enjoyed myself, though I do remember thinking that I was ready for it to be over after about 60-70 minutes. I was dripping with sweat (seriously dripping), which made it harder to hold poses since my skin was so slick. I get another class this week for free, so I’ll probably go back and see what I think the second time around. I don’t envision it becoming a regular habit at this point, but I can see myself going maybe 1-2 times a month.
